NEW ALBANY —
IU Southeast volleyball coach Lesley Drury-Prather resigned after four years in the position, the IU Southeast athletic department announced on Friday.
Drury-Prather led the Grenadiers to four straight KIAC tournament semifinals. She concludes her career at IU Southeast with a record of 81-63 (.562). She never had a losing record in her four seasons as head coach.
The Grenadiers finished the 2012 season with a 17-15 record. They fell to eventual KIAC champion IU East 3-0 in the KIAC semifinals.
“I have absolutely enjoyed my time as volleyball coach at IU Southeast,” Drury-Prather said. “I love my team and this program. IU Southeast has been a wonderful place to coach with an awesome athletic staff. I will always treasure the memories and friends I have at IU Southeast. “
Drury-Prather was a standout player at the University of Louisville from 1998-2002. While she was a member of the squad, the Cardinals advanced to the NCAA Division I volleyball championship every season, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 1998. She was named to the Conference USA All-Conference team in 2000 and 2001. She also competed with the Cardinals' track team for three years in the high jump and heptathlon.
“I want to thank Lesley for all of her hard work and dedication to the volleyball program during the past four years,” IU Southeast Athletic Director Joe Glover said. “Coach Drury-Prather has been a tremendous asset to this University. We will miss her competitive spirit and her endless commitment to our student-athletes and their development.”
A national search for Drury- Prather’s replacement will begin immediately.
