NEW ALBANY —
The New Albany volleyball team prevailed in both of its matches in the round-robin Bulldog Invitational on Saturday at The Doghouse. New Albany ousted Hoosier Hills Conference rival Jennings County (25-16, 25-17, 25-19) and Castle (24-26, 28-26, 25-11, 25-15).
On the day, senior Catlin Lilly paced the Bulldogs with 31 kills to go along with 17 digs. Teammate Nicole Jones had 22 digs and 20 kills, while New Albany setter McKenzie Prince distributed 65 assists.
Bulldog senior Samantha Miszkiel made 16 digs and five service aces. Teammate Alexis Lete had 11 kills and a team-high six blocks. Also for New Albany, Kelsey Guess spiked eight kills and made four blocks, and Audrey Donastorg had seven digs and three blocks.
“I thought they found out the difference between focus and lack of focus today,” Bulldogs’ coach John Breeding said about his players. “In three positions, we’ve got new people at those positions, but sometimes you lose focus. It’s a good group — it’s just a matter of them getting more experience.”
