Jeff volleyball organizational meeting
Any girl interested in trying out for the Jeffersonville High School volleyball team during the 2012 season is asked to attend an organizational meeting on Tuesday, April 17.
The meeting will be held at Johnson Arena at 7:30 p.m.

Providence seeks girls’ golf coach
Providence High School is in search of a girls’ golf head coach and assistant coach.
The positions require strong knowledge of golf, both playing and instruction at the high school level.
The ideal candidates must proactively build the program from the New Albany Deanery level. Additional desired skills include: organization, communication, attention to detail, golf community contacts and working well with others.

Louisville Bats home opener Friday
The Louisville Bats will host their Opening Night at 7:05 p.m. on Friday at Louisville Slugger Field against the defending Triple-A National Champion Columbus Clippers, the Triple-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians.
Game Time Happy Hour will be held from 5:30-7 p.m., and the first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive a Bats magnetic schedule. Fireworks will be displayed following the conclusion of the game.
The entire 2012 Bats schedule, including updated promotions and special events, can be found online at www.batsbaseball.com. Full and partial season tickets, along with group outings and suite rentals, are available by calling the Bats front office at 502-212-2287.
Tickets are available at the Louisville Slugger Field box office, online on the team’s website or by calling the Bats ticket office directly at 855-228-8497. The box office is open between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

New Albany Little League Opening Day
The New Albany Little League Softball program is celebrating its third year as a chartered member of Little League at its Opening Day on Saturday.
Softball games will being at 9 a.m. along with a silent auction, a 50/50 drawing and door prizes. Raffle tickets and NALLS merchandise will be available for purchase.
An Opening Day Ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. with several special guests in attendance, including New Albany Mayor Jeff Gahan.

C’town to host spaghetti dinner
The Charlestown Youth Lady Pirates, the official feeder program of the Charlestown High School girls’ basketball program and the Charlestown Youth Pirates will host a spaghetti dinner from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, April 20.
The event will take place at the A&E building in Charlestown. Tickets will be $7 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under. Tickets will be sold at the door.
