H.S. ROUNDUP: Charlestown tennis upends New Washington, 4-1

> SOUTHERN INDIANA — Visiting Charlestown swept all three singles positions to defeat New Washington, 4-1. Claiming matches for the Pirates were Chris Braun at No. 1 singles, Kam Heil at No. 2 singles, Ben Delaney at No. 3 singles and Zach Whitten and Tyler Massie at No. 2 doubles.

NEXT: Charlestown at New Albany Invitational, today; New Washington at Scottsburg, Tuesday.

• Borden drops SAC opener: Host Borden lost its Southern Athletic Conference opener on Thursday to Lanesville, 4-1. Braves’ No. 1 singles player Josh Vollstedt defeated Zack Robinson, 6-1, 6-4.

NEXT: Borden at Charlestown, Tuesday.



GIRLS’ GOLF

• Warriors win at Hidden Creek:
On Thursday, Sydney Shrebtienko fired a 40 to win medalist honors and lead Christian Academy past Charlestown, which fielded an incomplete team, in a dual meet. Natalie Thompson paced the Pirates with a 41.
