In those victories, New Albany averaged 35.6 points per game. … The Bulldogs have already scored 30-plus points in both of their games this season. That matches the two games they scored more than 30 all of last season. … Prior to this year, New Albany had split its first two contests only once in the past five seasons, which occurred in 2008. It started 0-2 in the other four years.

• MATCHUP TO WATCH: New Albany’s rushing duo of Chris Whitehead and Jalen Forrest vs. the Jennings County defense — Forrest ran for 151 yards, while Whitehead had 135 in the Bulldogs’ 31-22 home victory over Castle last Friday. Plus Whitehead rushed for 344 yards in New Albany’s 47-46 overtime loss to Providence in Week 1. The Panthers’ defense gave up 360 yards on the ground in their 33-21 loss last Friday at Greensburg.
