HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Garr smacks 10 kills to lead Creek past Salem

Warriors defeat Red Devils in three

SALEM — Senior Haley Garr delivered 10 kills and two service aces to lead the Silver Creek volleyball team to a 25-12, 25-11, 25-14 win on Monday night at Salem.

Dragon sophomore Liz Mann spiked eight kills and served three aces, while Silver Creek senior Sammi Smith made 15 assists and five aces.

Also for the Dragons, senior Alex Carlton had 12 digs, Kaitlyn Ramser distributed 11 assists and Brynn Ware made eight digs.

“We thought everybody played well,” Silver Creek coach Jeff Zimmerman said. “We’re trying to get ready for sectional. We’ve got to keep getting better.”

NEXT: Silver Creek (16-11, 6-1 Mid-Southern Conference) at Austin, tonight.

• CAI takes down Jeff: Senior Rachel Boesing spiked 19 kills to lead host Christian Academy past Jeffersonville on Monday, 25-23, 25-18, 25-15. Boesing also had seven digs and four blocks.

Teammate Krista Boesing had 14 kills and four digs, while Warrior freshman setter Alex Falcone dished out 31 assists.

Also for Christian Academy, Brooklyn Garrison had five digs and four aces, Ezra Staggers made three kills and three digs and Hannah Staggers recorded two kills and two digs.

“We had great chemistry tonight and the girls were ready to play,” Warriors’ coach Walter Pauly said. “We served well and our passing was strong so we could run our offense. Meghan Curry played fantastic defense and Alex Falcone set well. Ezra and Hannah Staggers were solid. Although the score may not reflect it, Jeffersonville played hard and never gave up.”

NEXT: Christian Academy (19-4) hosts Rock Creek Academy, tonight; Jeff (9-18) hosts Jennings County, tonight.
