> SOUTHERN INDIANA —
The McKee Munk Tournament at Henryville and the North Central Tournament in Indianapolis have been postponed due to the weather.
Also, tipoff times for the Bob Wettig Tournament in Richmond — featuring Jeffersonville, Rock Creek and Floyd Central from this area — have been delayed today.
The tournament in Henryville was scheduled for Thursday and has been postponed because it was too dangerous for Oldenburg Academy and Crothersville to travel in the morning from further north. The tournament will be played on Saturday, following the original schedule for Thursday.
Christian Academy will face Crothersville at 10 a.m., the host Hornets will face Oldenburg at approximately 11:45 a.m., the losing teams will meet at 6 p.m. with the winners facing each other for the title at approximately 7:45 p.m.
With the winter storm in Indianapolis, New Albany’s girls’ basketball team’s trek to North Central has been postponed a day.
Like the Henryville tournament, the North Central tourney will follow the same format, only on Friday and Saturday instead of Thursday and Friday.
New Albany will face the host Panthers in the opening game at Noon on Friday, while Springsboro, Ohio, will battle Warren Central in the following semifinal. The consolation game will be played at 10 a.m. on Saturday, followed by the championship game.
Rock Creek was scheduled to open the Wettig Tournament at Richmond High School at 9 a.m. today against Jennings County. That game will be played at 5:30 p.m. at Earlham College.
Jeffersonville was supposed to open at 1:30 p.m. this afternoon against Indianapolis Metropolitan at Richmond High School. That game has been pushed back to 8:30 p.m., also at Earlham.
Floyd Central’s opener against Chatard is still scheduled for 8:30 p.m. at Richmond High School.
