Charlestown conditioning

The Charlestown Middle School seventh- and eighth-grade football teams will begin conditioning at the CMS football field from 7-8:30 p.m. on Monday, July 23.

Conditioning sessions also will take place 7-8:30 p.m. at the middle school on the following dates: July 24, July 26, July 30, July 31, Aug. 2.

Athletes must have a completed physical either on file with the school’s athletic office or brought with them to conditioning.

In addition, athletes must have water or a sports drink with them and also are encouraged to have football cleats.

Cubs bus trip

A bus trip from Jeffersonville to Chicago for two Chicago Cubs’ home games at Wrigley Field will take place July 30-Aug. 1.

A Free Enterprise charter bus will leave Jeff on Monday, July 30 at 9 a.m. for that night’s Cubs’ home game with the Pittsburgh Pirates at 8:05 EDT. The bus will stay in Chicago on Tuesday, July 31 and then bus patrons will attend the Cubs’ home game against the Pirates on Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 2:20 p.m. EDT. The bus will return to Jeff at approximately 11 p.m. on Aug. 1.

Cost of the round trip is $370 per person. That includes a $150 deposit to hold a spot on the bus, two terrace reserved tickets, two nights lodging at the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza and refreshments on the bus that includes adult beverages.
