HENRYVILLE —
Henryville’s 2012-13 regular season came to a close without a win after Saturday’s 70-67 loss to Indianapolis Herron on Senior Night.
It was the Hornets’ closest loss of the season. In fact, four of Henryville’s final seven losses came by single-digits after it was beaten by double-digits in its first 12 games.
On Saturday, Henryville trailed just 29-26 at the half and 44-43 after three quarters. Herron (11-9) pulled away in the middle of the fourth quarter and a Henryville run fell just short.
“We just ran out of time there at the end,” first-year Hornets coach Dan Carmony said. “It was a heck of a game. It was pretty well even. It was a heck of an effort from the kids.”
Tyler Collins led the Hornets with 23 points. Landon Guthrie added 10 and Cody Reister and Bailey Reister scored nine apiece. Bailey Reister hit three of Henryville’s nine 3-pointers.
Nicholas Tracy and Rico Stewart led the Achaeans with 18 points apiece.
