FLOYDS KNOBS —
New Albany boys’ tennis player Kyle Landrum advanced to today’s Floyd Central individual singles sectional final on Thursday by defeating Charlestown senior Chris Braun in the semifinal, 6-2, 7-6(4). Braun ended his season with a 24-2 record.
“It was tough to watch a player like Chris have his career come to an end,” said Charlestown coach Chris Ryan, who mentioned that Braun has been named to the Indiana All-Star team. “He has had a great career, growing into such a competitor and one of the top three players in the area. He has made a name for himself that will be remembered among the best in Charlestown’s history.”
Landrum faces Jeffersonville’s Jordy Rigsby in today’s sectional final at 4:30 p.m. at Floyd Central.
