SELLERSBURG —
One of several businesses destroyed in last week’s fire at Silver Creek Plaza in Sellersburg has found a new home.
LeBody Shoppe, a salon, fitness and tanning center, was a total loss. Owner Trisha McAfee began looking for a new location and reached an agreement to move to 211 Hunter Station Road.
She said the move was a perfect fit for the salon and the owner of the building.
“I guess the building had been vacant, so they were excited to get someone out there,” McAfee said.
She said insurance adjusters walked through Silver Creek Plaza early this week, but no decision has been made yet whether to rebuild.
“We’re going to stay there [at the new location] because I don’t know if they’re planning on rebuilding,” McAfee said.
Some of the four stylists lost 10 to 18 years worth of records. They estimate that about $70,000 was lost in the fire.
With the loss of information, they have been unable to reach all their clients and want to spread the word about their new location.
“I’m hoping it will work pretty good,” McAfee said. “We’re just trying to move in as fast as we can.”
With some minor renovations, they hope to open their doors by Monday. The new phone number for the shop will be 812-246-0500.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has ruled that an electrical failure in a junction box between the ceiling and roof. No one was injured.
